The Interview

1. Where do you live?

United Kingdom. I guess a good thing is that when outsourcing, the global standard is USD. With the pound being stronger, that money tends to go a bit further! Would be even better to move to a place where the cost of living is lower, however.

2. When did you start creating content?

If you include the YouTube and self-publishing, I guess you could say I started around 5 years ago. But niche sites, specifically I started at the tail of 2020.

3. Are you a full-time Creator?

Yes. I’ve been full time from self-publishing around 2018.

4. What was the “Click” that made you decide you can make full-time money online?

I’ve been making money online since I was 16, so I have always known it was possible and have had it instilled in my mind since I was young, that you do not need to trade time for money. When I became a mother, the real push came – I knew I wanted to homeschool, so we had to figure out what that looked like for us as a family and two parents working outside the home wasn’t going to work for us.

5. How many niche sites have you created?

I honestly couldn’t tell you!

6. How many are you still running now?

There are currently 8 that hosting gets renewed for, let’s put it that way.

7. Have you sold any sites or online businesses? And what was the ROI like?

No.

8. How many sites or online businesses have failed or not gotten going?

Many have failed or been abandoned.

9. How much are you earning each month?

  • $1,001 – $5,000

10. What are your current streams of revenue?

  • Affiliate Sales
  • Display Ads
  • Books and eBooks
  • Digital Products & Courses

11. What are your Top 3 on-page SEO strategies?

Optimising for the reader – infographics, table of contents, bolded phrases etc. things that improve readability.

Adding relevant FAQs at the end of a post – I use the Rank Math plugin as it does it with the FAQs schema.

Going back and improving older articles by grabbing keywords the page also ranks for organically and including them as a heading or in context.

12. What’s the biggest issue(s) that you’re facing today?

N/A

13. What tool(s) do you rely on the most?

  • Keywords Everywhere
  • Thruuu SERP Analyzer
  • Jasper

14. What has been the biggest mistake you made?

Trying to publish content across multiple site with a limited budget.

15. What has been the best decision you’ve made?

Focussing on building upwards towards my goal rather than across. That concentrated effort and laser focus is all I’ve ever required and I finally get it now.

16. What’s one thing that you felt accelerated your journey the most?

The niche site community and everybody in it. It keeps me on my toes and keeps me motivated. I’ve learnt from so many people and it doesn’t take much to inspire me!

I am always learning; whether that is a strategy or method or just a way of thinking that will allow me to create my own methods and strategies. I wake up with ideas and if they make sense, I test them out. If they work, I rinse, repeat, systematise and outsource.

17. What’s your 12 month goal?

To 10x everything I am doing now.

18. How do you stay up to date on SEO, affiliate marketing, display ad, and other news?

YouTube and Twitter.

19. What do you eat or drink for fuel to keep going?

I’m now a coffee person!

20. Where can people follow you?

BONUS: Anything else you’d like to share that can help others?

If you are reading this and you are similar to me with shiny object syndrome and like to start stuff (and then lose interest and move onto something else), this is a blessing and a curse… It’s great that we get amazing ideas and want to act on them immediately but this is to our detriment!

Our success calls for our focus and consistency. The world will keep spinning if you don’t execute that amazing idea just yet.

Do yourself a favour and buy a notepad, write those ideas down, take a few minutes to plan them out if you must – but then shelf them for later and get back to your main task.
